OCT 9, 1929 –JUNE 4, 2015 James D. Brown of Modesto passed away on Thursday, June 4th at the age of 85.James was a Captain of The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department for 31 years. He belonged to the Kiwanis Club, was a 50 year member of the Elks Lodge and was a Lt. Colonel of the California National Guard.
He is survived by his Daughter Debra Epperson, Son in law Gary Epperson, Grandson Jess (Amy) Epperson and two great grandchildren Faylyn and Nicholas. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, June 11th, at 10:00AM in the Hillcrest Garden at Lakewood Memorial Park 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in James' name to The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Foundation.
