APR 11, 1929 - DEC 13, 2013
Jean Hervey passed away at the age of 84. She is survived by her daughters Janet Hervey, Eloise Covalt (Randy), Lynn Richardson (Jim), and her son Scott Hervey (Melinda). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Samantha and Matt Covalt, Libby Richardson, and Andrew, Emily, and Aiden Hervey.
Mrs. Hervey was raised in the mid-West and was very fond of her Wyoming heritage where she was raised in the Wyoming oil fields. She was the youngest of six brothers and sisters. She moved to California when she was 17. Later she moved to Abilene, TX, where her husband of 61 years attended and later taught at Abilene Christian University. After returning to Modesto, Mrs. Hervey worked as an accountant. She ended her career at Atherton, Ludlow, and Schonoff, and later at Berberian Company, where she retired at the age of 70.
One of Mrs. Hervey's great pleasures in life was hosting family and friends at the family almond farm in north Turlock where she raised her family and lived for 31 years. Mrs. Hervey was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ at both Davis Park in Modesto and the Turlock congregation where she was highly respected as a Ladies' Bible Class teacher. This gave her a lot of joy.
Services are Saturday, December 21, at 1 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home Heritage Chapel in Hughson.
