Jesse Jose Martinez

January 23, 1985 – November 21, 2023
Obituary of Jesse Jose Martinez
IN THE CARE OF

Lakewood Funeral Home & Memorial Park

Jesse Jose Martinez, of Modesto, passed away at the age of 38 on November 21, 2023.

Jesse was born in California and grew to create a family and future for those he loved. He worked for the City of Modesto Water Department for 20 years. He was an advocate for health, inspiring those around him to stay in shape. Working out was his “happy place”, and he always made time to do so, no matter how busy his schedule was. In the past year, he was a coach for the Modesto Rams Youth Football team. On August 12, 2023, Jesse married the love of his life Cheryl. The two welcomed the start of a blended family with one another.

“Jesse was ambitious and always took care of things before others could help. He was reliable and infectious. His sense of S-T-Y-L-E was on-point, from color coordinating his shirt to his shoes, or choosing a watch and accessories. He loved to be outdoors, whether that was doing yard work or washing vehicles. He was also an incredible cook, especially on the Trager or a BBQ.”

Jesse will be remembered by his loved ones as an incredible husband, father, and stepfather. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Lynn Martinez, and his children Monroe & Colton Martinez, and Taylor & Dylan Silva. He will forever be missed by his friends, family, and those who were inspired by him.
