Jessie was born in Brawley, CA on February 4, 1934 to Manuel Zavala and Jesus Zamora. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Edward Borba; her siblings, Nellie, Tonia, Tom, Vic, and Angie. Jessie is survived by her siblings Olga Guajardo and Joe Zavala; her children, Rick Borba, Ron Borba (Mary), Nancy Brimmage, and Patty Pacheco. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Jessie lived in San Jose with her husband and children. They moved to Modesto in 1959, where she worked for Contadina Foods for almost 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with friends at brown bag lunches, traveling, crocheting, making tamales for Christmas, and raising her grandchildren. Jessie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will truly by missed.
Viewing will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Monday, December 3 from 4-8pm, vigil starts at 6pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Tuesday, December 4 at 10am; interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts in her memory be made to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto CA 95356 or a charity of your choice.
