John Joe Ellis, 69, of Modesto, CA, passed away December 21, 2018. He was born in Modesto, CA, on October 24, 1949. John graduated from Ceres High School and received his Diploma in 1968. Shortly thereafter, he joined The United States Navy. John worked in the Gallo Winery for many years. His passions were, living for God and Church, Country, family, horses, bowling, fishing with Brother Tom and brother-in-law Gary and Tim. He is survived by his sister, Kathy Long (Jim), brother, Tom Ellis (Kristie), nephews and nieces, Jed Fry, Josh Fry, Jake Fry, John Fry, Mark Ellis, Ashley Ellis Bryan Ellis and many special friends. Visitation 5pm to 8pm, Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019. Funeral Services 10:30am, Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, CA. Committal 11am, Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella, CA.
