I know this is 2 years later, but I figured I should write one anyway.
I went to the same elementary school (Burnett) with Jose before he moved (in 5th grade I believe). I wanted to write how even though I’m 19, and most of his old classmates are now as well, he made such an impact that a lot of us think of him even to this day. I remember that in our 5th grade class, we were all assigned numbers. His was 10. Every time a random stick would call out 10, we would all go “awww Jose!” In memory of him. He has always been energetic, which is why I tried searching for him. It’s a shame that I had to find him after he passed. My sincerest condolences and prayers. He was truly a beaming light to everyone.

I’m so sorry for your lost losing a child , brother , cousin ,  boyfriend is the worse thing I know that he will make the sky bright for you guys and remember you may not be able to see him or hug him but he is in heaven watching you . To the family, this is a 15 year old from his girlfriends TikTok, I know you’ve heard the words “ everything will get better” you might seem like your whole world fell apart, your whole world did fall apart. Emily I know he is by your side all the time, he’s probably hugging you at you worst moments, cuddling you while at his grave. Smiling down on you. To his siblings, your bigger brother loved you, y’all will grow and he will be there every step of the way, to his brother, he is in the crowd at your games cheering for you, your number one fan. To his friends, he’s probably laughing with y’all and hugging y’all, and laughing along with every joke. To his parents it’s not easy losing a kid, you’ve been there for his first walks, and talks and it’s like all that way ripped away from y’all, instead he’s down looking at y’all’s new milestones that the future has planned for y’all. What I’m saying is, he’s always with y’all and is comforting y’all, it’s just not physically. I love y’all and y’all are strong. Especially you Emily he loved you, you can tell by the look in his eyes to the way he would act around you. I'm sorry for everyone's loss. As I didn't know him, i'm sure he was an amazing, wonderful, caring boy. 

Jose was a bright light in everyone’s life. I met him in 7th grade and we stayed close ever since. He would constantly reassure me that he wouldn’t leave me and he’d make sure I knew that I could trust him. He was that one person you felt comfortable telling your whole life story to. He was that person that would sit and listen and never make you feel unheard. He was that person that would never judge you. He was that person that made sure you knew you were loved. He was that one person that made sure you weren’t hungry. He was that one person that never wanted to see you sad.  He was that person you knew you could trust and tell any secrets to. And that I did… I trusted him with my life. Sometimes I would talk too much and he’d still sit and listen no matter how long the story was. Man how I miss having that one person. He was truly my best friend & soulmate all in one. We truly loved each other and that’s something I’m grateful for. I’m grateful that I got to be loved by him because it was really a girls dream. He showed me what true love was like even at a young age. He was truly one of a kind. He had such a positive impact on everyone’s life.
