

Judy entered into rest on Dec. 14th, 2014, surrounded by family, after a short illness. She was born July 2, 1918 to Lorenzo and Giuseppa Testaferrata in Cleveland, Ohio. Judy called many places home during her 96 years on this earth, but in retirement Judy moved to Modesto with her husband John Dispenza in January of 1988. She worked 30 plus years for Pacific Bell in San Francisco where she retired. She was a United States Naval Wave from 1943 to 1945, stationed in Washington DC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Kathrine Sciume, Tina Bruno and Jenny Griggs, brother, Joseph Testaferrata, and her loving husband of 58 years John Dispenza. She is survived by, sister, Sarah Bruno of Forest Hill, CA., nieces: Ginny (Louie) Buran of Ceres and Stephanie Lorton of San Mateo, nephews: Rennie (Sandy) Bruno of Folsom, CA., Michael (Sonseah) Sciume of Modesto, and many loving great nieces and nephews.
Judy loved to bake and her homemade pizza was everyone's favorite. The table during the Holidays was always covered with her assorted yummy cookies and desserts. Judy's pleasant smile and loving personality will be greatly missed but never forgotten. The family would like to thank Roseleen Gulzamin for her wonderful care and companionship with Judy for the last year and a half.
Funeral services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave. Hughson, CA; in the Riverside Chapel, visitation on Saturday, Dec. 27th from 10-11:00am followed by a chapel service at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in honor of Josephine "Judy" Dispenza to Community Hospice of Modesto.
