Joyce Ilene Brown Ichord

Joyce Ilene Brown was born July 23, 1933 in Modesto CA, daughter of Marion & Guy Brown. She had three sisters; Marilyn, Peggy and Pamela. She married Robert W. Ichord, her high school sweetheart, in 1951. She had her first born, Al, in 1953, Jennifer in 1954, and Deborah in 1956. Her life was full of fun and work with kids, a swimming pool, and the responsibilities that go along with a peach & grape ranch on Carver Rd, the family home of her husband, Robert Ichord. Joyce started out her life with flair. Later Bob & Joyce bought a cattle ranch in Denair, CA, and their youngest son, Paul was born there in 1965. They lived on the cattle ranch in Denair until they moved to their suburban home on Parkview Dr, Modesto, CA in 1967.

In 1983, Joyce moved to Tahoma, CA. She lived in her condo at Waters Edge and practiced her passion as a watercolor artist. She enjoyed hiking with her dog, Sheila while perfecting her hobby as a watercolor artist.. She continued this lifestyle until she left the Lake area in 1999 due to health issues.

She moved to Sonora, CA and continued her painting and art work. She loved the beauty of the mountains which was reflected in her watercolors. Later she moved back to her family home in Modesto to be close to her children and grandchildren. She was always a picture of strength and optimism.

She passed from this life on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Modesto. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her 2 daughters Jennifer Gomes, and Debby Ichord, her son Paul Ichord and daughter-in-law Julia Ichord, and grandchildren, Kayla, Mike, and Tom Gomes, and Lane, Landen, and Levi Ichord.
