She was the second of two children. Her brother Marc Alan Grimm passed from this life in 1990. She attended John Muir Elementary, La Loma Jr. High and graduated from Beyer High School. She received her AA degree from Modesto Junior College. Her degree was in Interior Design and she was incredibly talented in this area.
Julie was married in the summer off 1999. She had her first and only child, Alicia Diane Horton in January of 2000.
Julie had a career in retail merchandising. She also trained at Kaplan College as a medical office assistant.
She was employed by pool service companies and enjoyed working with customers, co-workers and the retail environment.
The world lost a very precious person on November 7, 2023. Julie Grimm was a loving mother, a devoted daughter and a true friend.
Even faced with many health challenges, she was the first one to offer to help someone in need with whatever she could do. Unlike some, she placed friends and family above riches. She was wealthy in leaving a piece of herself with those we crossed her path on the road of life. Her smile was a gift she willingly gave. Julie was a hard worker, willing to go the extra mile in any endeavor she chose to pursue. She had a great sense of humor and was very fun to be around.
Julie was a true free spirit. She was a very special and unique person. She loved flowers, camping out, being in the redwoods, the rain and going to the ocean. Julie loved gardening and had a green thumb. Julie was a delicate and beautiful flower herself. She had many health struggles in her life and was more fragile than she appeared. She would say that her biggest accomplishment was her daughter Alicia. She loved her daughter with all her heart. Her other best accomplishment was being herself, a beautiful, loving, caring, wonderful person who was truly loved by so many.
Julie loved cats, dogs and people. She was a people person and those that knew her found her to be a loyal, caring and loving friend. Julie loved to read. She was very spiritual in her beliefs and looked to find peace and understanding in this life.
Julie was one of the most underrated people in that she was not successful in conventional ways, but in her own way, she was the Best of Us.
Julie is survived by her daughter Alicia Horton, her mother Patricia Hitch, her father, Marc Grimm (Elk Grove) Also by her Uncle Dennis Hitch (Oakdale) paternal aunt and uncle Ardith and Glenn Grimm, and her cousins Lee and Meri Grimm. Also by three very depressed cats, Kelly, Boo, and Q.T.
A graveside service for Julia will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
