My sincere sympathies to the family. My father Ham named me after his good friend from Modesto High days together. I met Ken at different times and wish I could have seen him again.

Kenny McGee was my first childhood hero. We lived two doors down from the McGees on Las Flores Ave in Modesto and Ken, as a standout high school baseball player would sometimes include me in pick up ball games.  I wss eight years younger.  One time we broke into the gymnasium at Modesto High school to use the indoor basket ball court and almost got arrested.  Later Kenny worked at our plumbing shop during the off season to stay in shape, digging ditches and working with heavy cast iron plumbing components...I would always try and get my dad to let me be his helper.  I loved to watch him play baseball and remember people comparing his baseball skills to Phil Rizzuto and calling him "Scooter."  As I grew older I lost track of him...I didn't know he served in 82nd Airborne.  I'm glad to know he had a large family and lived a full life.  Maybe I'll pick him up again on the other side. On behalf of those who were teammates of Kenn with the 1951 Pittsburg, Kansas Browns of the Kansas-Oklahoma-Missouri I wish to express condolences on their behalf.  Also, when writing a couple of books about the KOM league I was in touch with Kenn and he recalled that year with great fondness.

Kenn believed in beautiful things, you are one of them.
I am sorry for the loss of your husband and friend, his daily companionship and everything that you will miss about him. I rejoice at the love you two shared for so many years, the true love that brought you together that will continue to endure bringing you comfort and peace.
