Lavonia was the daughter of Byron and Ludie Collier, whose love and guidance helped shape the steady, kind-hearted spirit that so many came to rely upon and cherish. She was one of four children.
For many years, Lavonia served as a dedicated paraprofessional, supporting students with patience and compassion. In the daily, often quiet work of helping others learn and grow, she offered encouragement that was deeply inspirational—leaving an imprint not only through what she did, but through the gentle respect and care with which she did it.
Outside of her work, Lavonia found joy in gardening, in the careful search and remembrance of genealogy, and in surrounding herself with vintage charm that made her home feel warm and welcoming. These interests reflected a life attentive to beauty, to history, and to the enduring value of family and connection.
Above all, Lavonia treasured her family, and she will be remembered as profoundly beloved by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she nurtured, the kindness she extended, and the steady presence she provided. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Lavonia is survived by her daughter Traci Brazil (Kevin) and son Shaun Pacheco; grandchildren Amanda Daire (Val-Pierre), Abigail Brazil, Megan Elrod, Wyatt Pacheco (Katie), Steven Ayala, Farin Pacheco, Saige Pacheco, and Shay Pacheco; as well as 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her parents Byron and Ludie Collier; daughters Terri De Hart and Lori Buendia; and siblings Gerald Collier, Timothy Collier, and Geanette Nickerson.
The graveside ceremony for Lavonia will be scheduled at a later time.
