L.T. Bates, a devoted minister and passionate evangelist, entered his eternal rest on March 13, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 26, 1941, in Pep, New Mexico, he spent his life boldly sharing the Gospel, leading countless souls to Christ with unwavering faith and boundless love.
As pastor of Airport Assembly of God and as a lifelong evangelist, L.T. ministered with conviction, witnessing lives transformed through prayer, faith, and miracle healings. His ministry extended beyond the pulpit—he was a recording artist, author, and host of a powerful radio program, using every platform available to spread the message of Jesus. He also served for decades in the Business Men's Fellowship, sharing his testimony and inspiring fellow believers. Through his newsletters, music, and storytelling, he encouraged the faithful and reached those in need of hope.
A beloved husband to Barbara for nearly 60 years and a devoted father to David, Paul, and James, L.T. was also a cherished brother to Billie, Lois, Lola, Johnny, Joe, Josephine, Aaron, and Peggy. Whether preaching, singing, studying Scripture, or simply handing out candy to strangers, he lived with a heart for people and a passion for winning souls.
Though he is now at peace, his unwavering faith and profound love for souls will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. A celebration of life service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Lakewood Funeral Home Heritage Chapel located at 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson, California.
