Luis Frank Duron was born in Los Angeles, California to Frank "Chico" Duron and Maria Duron on February 19, 1943. Mr. Duron passed away comfortably in his home on July 31, 2024 in Hughson, California at the age of 81. He is predeceased by his father Frank Duron, mother Maria Duron and two older brothers, Alfred and Robert Duron. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Elizabeth Duron, son Luis Duron Jr, daughter Laura Duron, his five grandchildren, Daniel Duron, Kayla Denton, Anna Duron, Mary Kottalis and Sophia Kottalis and his great four grandchildren Temprence Denton, Remington Denton, Curtis Denton and Calista Kottalis-Stubblefield.
Mr. Duron was a Deputy Sheriff for Stanislaus County for 21 years and the first paid firefighter with Local Hughson Fire Department. He was in the Lion's Club and the Moose Lodge starting in the early 70's which were organizations that helped raise money for certain town events and helping out the community. While being involved with these clubs he was an EMT Instructor in 1972. Luis was very involved with sports such as being on a bowling league and his church's softball team. He also coached for his children's softball team and baseball team. He loved to go hunting and planned many fishing trips in Mexico. One of Luis' favorite past times was teaching his grandchildren to fish, and using his boat with family and friends for water sports. Luis also dressed up as Santa Claus for his grandchildren each year. Life after retirement became an adventure with trips around the world with his wife Elizabeth. Luis was very social, and started planning luncheons with his retired gym friends and retired deputies once a month. Luis was an avid collector of stamps, user manuals along with his Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne memorabilia.
Services for Luis will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home in the Heritage Chapel on Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at 12:00pm with a graveside to follow in the South Hyland Garden at Lakewood Memorial Park at 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson CA 95326.
