

Peggy was the dauther of Melville Walter Enright and Annice Huges, and was born in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada on July 12, 1931.The family came to Modesto when she was a youngster. She graduated from Modesto High School and graduated from Nursing School at O’Conner Hospital in San Jose, CA, after proving herself at Modesto Junior College.
Peggy was first married to William R. Collins. She bore five daughters with Bill. After spending some time in Germany and El Paso, TX, with husband Bill, who was career military in the Army, she was divorced in 1971. In 1974, she remarried John D Loeffler in Modesto; they spent 45 years together.
Peggy is predeceased by both parents and three brothers, Jack (Donna Summers) of Fresno, CA, and Larry (Ines Carmen Yzaguire) of Modesto and her older brother Donald who died when he was five. She is survived by her daughters Marilyn (Julian Rocha) of Modesto, Joanne (Don Moore) of Arroyo Grande, Suzanne (Chuck Sammons) of Modesto, Nancy of Modesto, Judy (Grant Claycomb) of Los Vegas and her stepchildren Leslie Arnal and Bill Loeffler. There are nieces, nephews, and multiple grandchildren and some youner great grandchildren in Modesto, Fresno, San Jose and elsewhere.
Peggy struggled throughout her life with health problems, but they only sporadically interfered with keeping up a full life, raising five and then six daughters activity in the Catholic Church and school, working as O.R. nurse and later teaching nursing to classes of LVN candidates.
The last two years were of decreasing quality as multiple TIAs each took its toll, primarily with loss of speech and progressive dementia. She continued to ask for her brothers Jack and Larry, and now she is in their company along with her parents. Despite her progressive vascular disease, she was the longest-lived in the family. She will be sorely missed, by her husband, children and stepchildren, and many others.
The family is very appreciative and grateful for the compassionate care and attention received from the Hospice Organization Asera; they quietly took on many burdens which great eased the patient’s and the family’s distress.Services are being arrange by Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, CA
