Margarito Franco Lazcano

June 10, 1937 – January 24, 2025

Margarito Franco Lazcano passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at the age of 87 at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto, California.

He was born on June 10, 1937, in Durango, Mexico, to Pedro Franco Sanchez and Antelma Lazcano Salgado. One of thirteen children, Margarito grew up in a large and loving family.

In the 1950s, he immigrated to the United States and began working as a farm laborer in California’s Central Valley. In 1969, he secured a position as a forklift driver at Tri-Valley Growers, a cannery in Modesto, where he dedicated 33 years of hard work before retiring in 2002.

Margarito is survived by his loving wife, Maria de Susana Salas Franco; his children, Gabriel Franco, Nancy Franco, Jessica Franco, and Mariana Gonzales; as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held on February 11, 2025, at Lakewood Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel in Hughson, California, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will take place on February 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Ceres, California. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, California.

Family and friends are invited to a reception following the burial from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
