Margie is survived by her three children; Allana Walker, Chris Padilla and Leo Liberty. Her siblings; George Isley, Bonnie VanCamp, Delores Lewis and Dorothy Pastere. She is also survived by three grand children; Chad, Nicole, Amanda and nine great grand children.
Margie was born on September 17th, 1931, “Constitution Day” as she always proudly stated, to Walter E. Isley and Ollie May Isley in Muskogee, Oklahoma. As a young girl Margie and her family traveled between California and Oklahoma due to the need for work during the Great Depression and WWII. She attended schools in both states but returned to Oklahoma where she graduated from Wagner High School in 1949.
In 1968, Margie became one of the first women Real Estate agents in the state of California. By the mid 70ʻs she had obtained her brokers license and successfully “out sold” most of her male competitors. She joined a force of other brokers in 1976 to succesfully open Better Homes Realty of Pinole. The company quickly outgrew the offices they had rented and purchased a house in Pinole to accommodate the growing number of agents in the company. In 1980, Margie became the sole owner/broker of the company and at one time had as many as 40 agents working out of her offices. In 1985, she developed the property into what is now lovingly known as “The Liberty Building” or in her words “Gods Building” as it was just a gift from him. Margie continued to work in Real Estate well into her 70ʻs and was always happy to provide her services to friends when asked.
After she retired (LOL) and closed her office doors in 2001, she proudly started the Conservative Resource Center in a vacant office in the lower part of the Liberty Building. The CRC provided a haven and network to people with conservative values and allowed her to share her love for America, the constitution of the United States and share her faith and fellowship with others.
Margie has touched many lives, leaving behind a legacy of faith in God and her generosity of his gifts. She will always be remembered for her core values, wisdom and will forever be an inspiration to us all!
Margie will be laid to rest on September 8th at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, CA. Unfortuantely, due to the COVID pandemic, funeral services are restricted to the immediate family. The family asks that in lieu of cards and flowers that you please honor and memorialize Margie in a manner that you think that she would love most. Her 89th birthday would be on September 17th, “Constitution Day!” Please make a toast in her honor, wave the American flag proudly and stay strong.
Peace be with you!
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.LakewoodHughson.com for the Liberty family.
