NOV 2, 1943 - APR 2, 2014
Margo was born in Hanford, California on November 2, 1943 to parents Hardy and Lucille Clark. She moved to Modesto at a young age, where she was a lifelong resident. Margo passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 2, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.
Margo graduated Thomas Downey High School (Class of 1961), Modesto Junior College and California State University Stanislaus. She worked as a Senior Supervisor for Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall for 23 years and retired from there in 1987. She met many of her lifelong friends while working for Stanislaus County, many of whom still get together for a monthly breakfast. Margo inherited the family business, Crescent Supply Company from her parents in 1986, which she owned and operated with her husband, and eventually her children, until her passing. Margo volunteered her time and served on the board of Parent's United. She also sponsored and corresponded with under privileged children.
Margo married high school sweet heart, Larry Stott in 1963 and they had two children together. They divorced, but continued to be friends until his death. In 1984, she married the love of her life, Bill Mulliniks. They shared an amazing bond and were still so much in love with each other until her passing. They were like a young couple, always holding each other's hand when they walked together and sneaking in a kiss whenever they could. Bill and Margo enjoyed a truly happy life together, raising a family, working hard, traveling, and just having a good time with each other. They always had fun together and enjoyed each other's company the most. They travelled together to many of the places they both loved, Carmel, Hawaii, Mendocino, the East Coast and Europe.
Margo was an amazingly loving mother and friend. She set a tremendous example of strength, integrity, love and kindness. She worked hard to raise her children and loved them immensely. She was very compassionate and caring. She was also a fiercely strong, intelligent and independent woman. She was the go to for friends and family for advice and you always got the truth, whether you wanted it or not. She had a great love for her family and friends. You could always count on her to be there for you, to listen, share a laugh, and brighten your day. She had a great sense of humor, a positive outlook on life and situations, and always enjoyed herself. You knew if Margo was going to be there, you were going to have a good time.
Margo enjoyed gardening and her yard and home were filled with beautiful flowers. She always had something to plant after her many trips to the nursery. She enjoyed time spent working together with her family and going out for dinner and/ or drinks with friends and those she cared about. Margo loved the ocean, the beach, and the sound of the waves and enjoyed spending time there together with her husband, friends and family whenever she could.
After her diagnosis of Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer in August of 2012, she continued to work and live a full life. She was an amazingly strong and beautiful woman. She never once complained or felt sorry for herself during her illness. She had an extremely positive outlook in the face of the grim diagnosis and continued to be part of everything going on in her life for as long as she could. She was incredibly brave and caring and continued to be concerned about the well being of her family and friends up until the very end. She was an amazing example of strength and dignity to all who knew her.
Margo was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Lucille Clark; brother, Maurice Clark; and son Bill Mulliniks Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Mulliniks; children, Tiffani Stott and Craig Stott of Modesto; grandchildren, Ashley Stott of Modesto; Kaitlyn Rogers of Sacramento, Desiree Mulliniks and Jasmine Mulliniks of Denison, TX, and adopted grandchildren, Michele Van Ruiten of San Francisco, and Katelyn Van Ruiten of Modesto; and lifelong friend Louise White of Stockton.
She touched the lives of those she knew and loved in amazing ways. She will be truly missed by all those who were fortunate to share her life. Margo would want us all to remember the happy times we spent with her and per Margo wishes, there will be no services. The family asks that remembrances be made to Community Hospice. Arrangements under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home - FD1392, Hughson, CA.
