Maria Benito Cawley, 69, of the Martinez/Benito family, went to her heavenly home on December 31, 2024, filling the skies with her boundless humor and joy. Born on December 8, 1955, Maria was a beacon of light and laughter, a woman who had the extraordinary gift of turning even the simplest moments into memories filled with humor and love.

Maria’s warmth and wit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her laughter was contagious, her stories unforgettable, and her ability to find joy in life’s little moments was unmatched. She had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, a legacy that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Maria is reunited in heaven with her loving parents, Roy and Connie Benito; her brothers, Roy and Benny Benito; her honorary sister, Sister Mary Benedict; and her best friend, Cerila Pangilinan Skarvil. While their reunion surely echoes with laughter, Maria’s love and legacy remain here on Earth in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Anneka; her son-in-law, Jason; her cherished granddaughters, Ava and Holly; and her siblings, Maris, Beatrice, Frank, Angela, Mike, and Serena. Maria’s family was the center of her world, and her memory will live on in the traditions, jokes, and love they continue to share.

A celebration of Maria’s incredible life will take place on Friday, January 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the reception following the graveside service, located at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326, from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, to share memories, laughter, and love in honor of Maria’s life.

Maria Benito Cawley’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy reminds us all to live with humor, love fiercely, and embrace the beauty of every moment.
