

She was born in Robinson, Kansas to Lucy (McCorkle) and Harley Dunlap and was raised by her mother, Lucy and grandparents, Sarah and Alfred McCorkle.
She was married to Clarence Cox for 68 years. They lived like newlyweds up until his passing in 2011. She and her husband traveled the United States following his work as a master electrician until 1960 where they settled in Riverbank, CA. She and her family owned and operated Charolais Steakhouse and Granny's Kitchen in Riverbank for several years. She made regionally famous pies that people would come from miles away to partake of. Marjorie and her husband enjoyed flying planes when they were younger. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, board games and camping with her family. She attended church regularly at Bethel Church in Oakdale. She rarely had a cross word to say about anyone and rarely complained about anything. She took life as it came without demanding anything or letting things get to her.
Marjorie leaves behind her daughters; Beverly Stephens of Riverbank, Connie (David) Nelson of Scappoosse, OR, Carol (Billy) Smallwood of Coarsegold, CA, and Bobbi (Terry) Smith of Riverbank, CA; 12 grandchildren. Crystal, Mark, Richard (Rick), Doug, Kim, Robin, David (Joe), Brian, Carl, Michelle, James, Justin; 2 step grandchildren Julie and Robin; 35 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; her sister Joann Soden of Pasco, WA, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Clarence Cox (January 29, 2011), a son, Albert Larry Cox; a grandson, Allen Smallwood; nephew Paul Cox; niece, Shirley Soden Dickinson.
Viewing will be Monday, June 2 from 4-8 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home. Grave side services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA followed by a Celebration of Life potluck at Bethel Church at 105 East G Street, Oakdale, CA.
