Marvin Valentine passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 in Modesto, CA. He was born January 26, 1935 in Cooperstown, ND to Marvin (Arnold) and Ruth Valentine. He came to California to work on the railroad in 1956. He settled in Turlock in 1969 where he spent the rest of his life. He retired from Pacific Bell after 30 years. He was a loving husband to Gloria Valentine, father to Robin (Tom) Jurevich and Matthew (Reyna) Valentine, brother to Jim Valentine, papa to Brandon and Ashlee Jurevich, friend to many, and an enemy to jellybeans. Marvin was devoted to his church. He was the go-to guy for phone calling and driving around those in need. He volunteered for many Relay for Life events, Scandia Fest, The Salvation Army, and was a member of SIRS. He loved watching his children’s and grandchildren’s activities and attended more practices and games than most parents. He frequented the local coffee and donut shops where he solved the world’s problems with many dear friends. Turlock’s donut economy is sure to tank with his passing. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Friday, September 7. Funeral service will be at 10am on Saturday, September 8 at Lakewood Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Hughson, CA.
