Mary Ellen Parker, 80, of Modesto, CA, entered the kingdom of Heaven on July 9, 2018 in Modesto, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Friday, July 13, 2018 at Heritage Chapel at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery with the Chaplain Kathy Lane Pinion, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lakewood Funeral Home.
Mary was born in Parthenon, AR, to the late Loyd and Gertie Brasel on July 23, 1937. She went to school in Coal Hill, AR. While in high school Mary excelled in basketball as a Coal Hill High School Wampus Cat, where she lettered in the sport. She married Teddy Parker on July 2, 1955 in Richmond, CA. She worked as a candy maker for American Licorice for 15 years. Mary was affectionately referred to as sweetheart by her loving husband, and GG by her adoring great grandchildren. She was a happy, caring, yet stubborn woman; and all whom got the pleasure to meet her cherished every moment they had with her. Mary is preceded in death by her father Loyd Brasel, mother Gertie Brasel, sister Verdean Brasel, and brothers Carl and William “Bill” Brasel.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Teddy Parker of Modesto, CA. Sister Betty Young (Jim Young) of Modesto. Daughters Brenda Parker (Jeff Triplett) of Modesto, CA, Pamela Graves (Larry Graves) of Manteca, CA. Grandchildren Kerri Heinke (David Heinke) of Sunnyvale, CA, Matthew Graves (Chaela Graves) of El Dorado Hills, CA, Amber Griffith of Modesto, CA, Andrew Graves (Nolleisha Graves) of Manteca, Ca, and Benjamin Griffith (Alyssa Griffith) of Riverbank, CA. Great Grandchildren Devon Graves, Cali Graves, Greta Heinke, Magnus Heinke, Audrey Griffith, Alyanna Graves, Jacob Graves, Madison Graves, and Brooklynn Griffith. Mary is also survived by several nieces and nephews
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Kerri Heinke, Matthew Graves, Amber Griffith, Andrew Graves, Benjamin Griffith, and Devon Graves.
