Mary Oleta Teague

December 9, 1921 - August 14, 2014

Born December 9th, 1921 in Benton County Arkansas, Oleta was the second of seven children born to Claude and Mable Johnson. As a young child her family moved around the country before finally settling in California's Central Valley in the mid 1930's.

Oleta was a graduate of Modesto High School where she participated in the marching band and performed at the World's Fair on Treasure Island in San Francisco in 1939.

On July 2nd 1940 Oleta married the love of her life, Virgil S. Teague. They were married for 58 years, until his passing in 1998.Oleta enjoyed helping others, and served as a volunteer in Doctor's Medical Center Service League for over 25 years. During her time with the Service League she chaired many committees and served as President for one term.

Oleta is survived by her brother Glyn Johnson and his wife Esther of Salinas, her son William "Ron" Teague and his wife Debi of Modesto, and three grandsons: Billy Teague and his wife Sharyl of Escalon, David Teague and his wife Annie of Riverbank and Thomas Teague and his wife Ashley of Modesto. In addition, Oleta was proud to have been blessed with seven beautiful great-grandchildren; Max and Maddy, Luke, Leia, and Liam, T.J. and Harper Virgil Teague.

The funeral will be held at Lakewood's Riverside Chapel Wednesday August 20th at 10 a.m. Viewing will be Tuesday August 19th from 4-7 p.m.
