Milton Arnold Bettincourt

Born in Turlock, California, Milton spent most of his life in and around Stanislaus County, especially in Ceres. After attending Turlock High School, he went on to build a meaningful career with Weyerhaeuser, working from 1972 until his retirement in 2000. Retiring at the age of 55 gave Milt the opportunity to fully embrace the many passions that brought him joy.

Milt was a man of deep appreciation for the outdoors. He found peace and happiness in camping, hiking, gardening, and spending time at the ocean and lakes. His talents in woodworking and welding were matched by his generosity—he shared his gifts freely, including through camp hosting along the California coast. A man of faith, he attended church regularly and gave his time in service to local missions supporting the homeless community.

Above all, Milton was a devoted husband and a proud father to his beautiful blended family. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Diane Bettincourt; his children, Mark Bettincourt, Andrea Moring, Kristie Lynn Bettincourt, Sonya Starks, his siblings Mervin Bettincourt, Melvin Bettincourt and Melody Lucido, his 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many other family members and dear friends who will continue to cherish his memory.

Milton was predeceased by his beloved father, Melvin A. Bettincourt Sr., his mother, Madaline A. Bettincourt, and his sister, Michelle Bettincourt. He was also preceded in death by his cherished grandparents: Adriana M. Avila and Manuel Avila, as well as Annie and John Bettincourt.

Milton’s life was a testament to kindness, craftsmanship, and quiet strength. He will be remembered for the warmth he brought to every space and the love he poured into every relationship.
