Nelson Earl Murphy, born May 24,1958 in Modesto, CA. to Carl and Virginia Murphy. Nelson has 5 siblings, Linda Reed, Lakeside, Arizona, Randy Murphy (Valorie), Riverbank, predeceased by Vivian Regello, Ceres, Diania Barker (Kim), Ballico and Kenneth Murphy (Sheri), Oakdale. Nelson has two daughters, Katie Murphy and Kelli Alderman and four grandchildren, Hadley, Paxton, Addison and Nash Alderman.
Nelson attended Livingston High School his freshman and sophomore year and all but about 2 month of his Junior year. The last part of his Junior year Nelson attended Ceres High School before dropping out and taking his GED. When living in Livingston Nelson would help on the family farm feeding and attending to the animals. He also worked for Mr. Stinson in his almond orchard. Nelson’s work history consisted of working at Cal-pine Containers and drove diesel truck for Bebee Trucking, Bob Hurt Trucking and Werner Enterprises, Inc.. He was also a owner/operator hauling for Claw-son Trucking, Blackburn Truck Lines and Ranger Transportation. Before retiring he worked as a diesel truck mechanic for Conti Materials
for about 20 years and also painted some of the diesel trucks to match some of the race cars. Nelson’s passion was camping, fishing and hunting. He loved feeding wild fox that were living near his job at Conti Material. He was a big fan of NASCAR Races which was very obvious as he attended them every chance he got as well as he would purchases shirts, jackets, hats, metal cars as well as other memorabilia. Nelson took his daughters to the races when he could and purchased them shirts and jackets as well. He enjoyed doing things for others when he could. Family was everything to Nelson.
