It is with great sadness that the family of Nelson Edward Trinidad announces his passing on March 11, 2018, at the age of 75. Nelson is lovingly remembered by his wife Lori; his daughter Jannell (Gil); his grandchildren Lily, Nelson, and Dominic; his great-granddaughter, Scarlett; and his sister Debbie (Ron). He was preceded in death by his parents, Donna Lee and Edward Joseph Trinidad.
Nelson grew up in Modesto and attended both Ripon and Modesto High Schools, where he lettered in football and wrestling. An entrepreneur, he owned a variety of businesses; his work ethic was a trademark feature of his personality. Nelson never met a stranger, and his love for family and friends was well known.
Although Nelson lived most of his life in Central California, two and a half years in his 70s were spent in St. Croix, his “island paradise.” Upon his return, he and Lori reconnected as she cared for him, and they ended their 34 years not just as friends, but spouses, when they remarried last December. In lieu of a memorial, the family will be having a celebration of life, and all who desire, may make donations in memory of Nelson to Special Olympics by going online to specialolympics.org or calling 1-800-380-3071.
