Omega Dean Watson

The Lord took Omega home on Saturday, November 11, 2017. She was born in Seiling, Oklahoma to Floyd Bryant and Jessie Ina Muse, the 5th girl in a family of 7 girls and 1 boy. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Grady (LeRoy), grandson Jeffrey, sisters Helen, Faith, Ophelia, Irene, Mary, and Denver. She is survived by her daughter Sheryl (Gurb), sons Steve, Randy (Leslie), and Greg (Marilyn), 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother Floyd (Butch) Muse, many nieces and nephews, and special pets Coco and Pepper.

Jobs and money were hard to come by in the 30’s and 40’s in Oklahoma so Mr. Muse went to California to work in the ship yards. He would send most of his money back to Oklahoma to his wife and children. In 1948 Mrs. Muse had saved enough money to take a greyhound bus and move Irene, Omega, Mary Butch, and Denver out to California. Each one had one tiny suitcase. The family eventually settled in the San Pablo/Bay Area.

Omega met Grady (LeRoy) in her new San Pablo neighborhood and on October 29, 1950 they were married. Omega was 15 and Grady was 17. They had four children: Steve, Sheryl, Randy, and Greg. The Family enjoyed getting together with Omega’s sisters and brother families and watching the cousins play. They also enjoyed playing table games like Skipbo or Mexican Dominoes.

After the children had grown Omega and Grady went on several cruises with friends. One was to Alaska where they took a helicopter ride unto a glacier, and another cruise was through the Panama Canal. They also would go traveling in their 5th wheel. She had lots of stories to tell about their adventures.

As Omega’s eyesight failed, she started attending VIPS which is an organization for the visually impaired. The group would hold meetings and occasionally go on outings to various places. She made a lot of friends at VIPS and really enjoyed both the meetings and the outings.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1PM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, Ca. 95326
