A MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY
Patricia Ann Gill was born on April 21, 1930 and raised in San Luis Obispo. After graduating high school, she began her career in the restaurant industry. In 1951, Patricia married the love of her life, Rudy “Mike” Blanusa. Patricia and Mike moved to Modesto in 1960. Patricia followed Mike’s law enforcement career from Stanislaus County, to Calaveras County, to Tahama County. Along the way, she continued her career in restaurant management. During their time in Tahama County Patricia enjoyed many social activities as a member of the Soroptimist Beta Sigma Phi sorority. During their time together, the two raised four children: Robert Blanusa (laid to rest in 2015), Sandy Blanusa (laid to rest in 2014), Rudy “Mike” Blanusa Jr, and Harley “Steve” Blanusa. Upon her husband Mike’s passing in 2002, Patricia moved back to Stanislaus County to be closer to family. Some of Patricia’s most loved hobbies included baking her famous cheesecakes and cookies. Later in retirement Patricia enjoyed hobby painting, bingo, visiting as many Indian Casinos that she could find, and cruise ship excursions. Her most enjoyable cruise destination was Alaska. Patricia passed away on October 31, 2023 at the age of 93. She is survived in death by her two sons, Rudy “Mike” Blanusa Jr and Harley Steven Blanusa, along with 10 grandchildren and an additional 17 great-grandchildren. Services for Patricia will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home on November 9th, 2023. Beginning at 1PM will be the funeral service in Heritage Chapel, followed by a graveside service in South Hyland Garden.
