Pauline was Aunt Pauline to me, the beloved wife of my uncle Hubert, or Mac, as she called him, McGrady. They were married the same year as I was, and I felt lucky that he had married such a fun, loving and kind person. Since my father died when I was 17, Uncle Hubert was like the father I always wanted, and every time we visited it was like coming home. Aunt Pauline made it that way; she was the most friendly, giving person who wanted to feed you and talk and shop together, and play cards. They always played cards  and kept score!, and teased each other so much I worried they were mad at each other.  I learned from them that  teasing can be just for fun, and to always hug and say "I love you" and after every meal, to thank Pauline because "that was the best meal I ever had!"  For yeas we visited every summer, and as often as we could, and they came to visit us and the whole extended family showed up because they were so special. I will treasure all the memories of those happy times and her loving home, and her welcoming us into her own family, too.   She was my dear Aunt Pauline, and I loved her and will never forget her. The photo is from 2007, her last visit here. Lance, our son, was unable to fly home, but everyone who could make it came and we had a picnic in the park. I took Aunt Pauline on a water tour of Lake Washington and to a prime spot to watch the Blue Angels air show, but the best time was when we all got together and celebrated her visit.  Everyone will miss Aunt Pauline!
