DEC 5, 1948 - OCT 21, 2011
Randall Lloyd Williams of Ceres passed away on October 21st
in the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA., after
a 7-year battle with Leukemia, and 1-month battle with a rare
Lymphoma, "Richters Syndrome".
Randy was born in Richmond, CA, the middle child of the late
Roy and Lily Mae Williams. He grew up in Modesto, CA.,
graduating from Modesto High School then joining the Navy.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran who did 3 tours of Vietnam, he
worked as a Boiler Operator for S&W Fine Foods for 21 years
and currently was employed by Stanislaus Food Products for
the past 10 years.
In his career, Randy never called in sick in 41 years, until
his chemotherapy treatments.
His unique humor was known by all, especially his wife, and
both always tried for the last word or pun. He loved to tease,
especially his 20-pound cat, Buddy, who adored him and is
waiting at the front door.
Co-workers always said, “Did you hear what Randy said or did?”
He was also popular with Memorial Medical Center's nurses as
he told his various hospital jokes even while in so much pain.
He was active in sports, plus he loved the San Francisco 49ers.
He was supportive of Kathy's Green Bay Packers, but it was
quite a rivalry when they played each other.
Randy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathy Williams,
nephew Rory Wofford ("like a son" raised by Randy and Kathy),
brothers Kenneth (Muriel) Williams, Eldon (Linda) Williams,
Alan (Elaine) Williams, Paul (Lori) Williams and sister
Ramona (Larry Wofford) Swindle plus many nieces, nephews
and other special relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis
Williams.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 28th at
10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home (Riverside Chapel),
900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to
