

Richard was born in Modesto, California on December 22, 1938. He attended Ceres High School. He met the love of his life Estalene while cruising 10th Street in Modesto, they married in June of 1959. Richard was preceded in death just two months by his wife. “Ester” was his best friend in life; he adored her as she did him.
He leaves behind three daughters, Debra Haley (Dallas), Kimberly Voss (Charles), and Sharon Atchison (James). He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren Stephanie Haley, Richard Haley (Tanya), T.J. Voss (Liz), Trent Voss (Spencer), Tyler Moreno (Kayla), Breanna Coe (Dan), Alissa Atchison and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Art and Marge Augustine, brother Ted and sister Beverly.
Richard and Estalene enjoyed 62 plus wonderful years together always surrounded by family. Richard was an owner operator of Dick Augustine Excavating for over 25 years. Richard loved fast cars and trucks especially Fords! He enjoyed participating in truck pulls with his buddies, his latest truck appropriately named “Never Satisfied”, he always was wanting to make it go further and pull harder. He then discovered his love for trap shooting, and he was good at it. He was a great shot and made a lot of great friends. He was a manly man and loved joking around with his family and friends. He loved his dog Shorty, his vegetable garden, the mountains, family four wheeling adventures and camping.
Dad will forever be in our hearts and remembered fondly as the Best Dad, Best Grandpa and Best Papa Grams (Great Grandfather). He loved each and every one of us as much as we loved him.
A graveside funeral will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson California on Thursday April 7th at 11am.
