Robert Edward Newton

Robert graduated from Modesto High School in 1950. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 - 1954 during the Korean War and spent time aboard the U.S.S. Montague AKA 98. After the Navy he returned to Modesto where he finished his working career as a salesman for Berry-Venturini Distributing. Robert was a member of Teamsters Union #386 and attended Village Chapel Church in Ceres.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mabel Newton and three children, Karen Newton-Lowery, Kristina Berns and Robert Keith (Josie) Newton, six grandchildren and five great grandsons, siblings Marvin Turner and Delores Newton of Pleasanton and Bonnie Newton of Bethel Island and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all those who know and love him.

A Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. There will be a Graveside Service the following day at Lakewood Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Peacevale Garden.
