

Robin Diane Shelton, a devout follower of Jesus Christ, wife of 41 years and mother to seven who served as a registered nurse for decades, spending the final eight years of her career at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, passed peacefully on July 22, 2025, following a courageous year-long battle against cancer. She was 72 years old.
Born on September 6, 1952, at Memorial Hospital in Manteca, California, to William Bernard Gelderman and Bonnie Ethleen Heaton, Robin was the middle child of “Bill” and Bonnie, the younger sister of Holly Mosegaard and the eventual older sister of Susan Bozzini. She graduated from East Union High School in Manteca in 1970 then attended Delta Community College and Sacramento State University where she studied psychology before transferring to Modesto Junior College where she earned a degree in nursing. While working at Modesto City Hospital in 1982 and attending then First Baptist Church in Modesto, she met her future husband Mark Allen Shelton. They were married on July 6, 1984, became a stepmother to his two daughters and had recently celebrated 41 years of marriage. While married to Mark they adopted a total of five children.
Robin spent many years working for Doctor’s Medical Center before taking several years off work to help raise their family. She then went to work for Community Hospice. Upon retirement, Robin and Mark spent a great amount of time traveling around the country in their fifth wheel, visiting friends and family along the way. She also took up crocheting and was a very active member of her church. Her faith was of the highest importance to her, and she was a constant witness for Christ throughout her life. A skilled musician, Robin also developed a renewed interest in playing the piano later in her life.
Robin is survived by her husband Mark, her children; Angela, Laura, Andy, Luke, Angel and Christina, and her nine grandchildren; Chloe, Alan, Vivian, Lucy, Ethan, Kenny, Avery, Ashira Amora, Phoenix and Daniel. She was preceded in death was her son David.
