With heartfelt condolences, sadly we announce, on the day chosen by our Lord, our beloved mother Sandra Zumsteg was brought home to rest in the house of God on October 29, 2025. “Sandy” was known for her gentle nature, her kindness and ability to welcome anyone into her home, the gift of a hug and a smile to any new friend she met, and most importantly her love of her family, children, and grandchildren.
She will lovingly be remembered by her children Robert Grim(Sabrina), Christine Grim(Steven) and Angelica Branum(Justin). She earned and loved the title “Grandma Sandy” to Jakob, Callie, Violet, Hazel, Everett, Emmett, Brayden. She will also be missed by her grand-puppies Erin and Cleo for whom she always had a readily available supply of baby food in the pantry when they came to visit.
She is survived by her sisters Patricia and Jennifer, brother Tony, nephews Jason and Jeremy Zumsteg, and her niece Nakita Wein. Thank you to all her family and friends Juli, Kathy, Chris, Jack, Sharon, and Karen who have all reached out during this difficult time to offer condolences and heartfelt stories reminiscing on the beautiful memories of our mother. She is joined in rest by her mother and father Donald and Marcia Zumsteg, and her beloved chihuahua Lily who is now probably sitting on her lap, gently rocking away in their favorite rocking chair.
Sandy was a dedicated mother first and foremost, her children were her pride and joy. Her refrigerator door served as a special gallery of her greatest works, where she proudly displayed the pictures and drawings of her children and grandchildren, with real estate scarce and vacant spaces almost non existent. Every picture and every piece of art representing a reflection of her love and legacy left upon this earth.
Sandy had very simple desires, with no emphasis held on material possessions. She worked hard as a mother to provide for her children and make sure they never went without, even if that meant she had to. She unwaveringly sacrificed everything she had to make sure her children were safe, warm, and fed. She found joy in her animals, gardening, and music.
Mothers are a special gift
Sent down from God above
To share a bit of heaven
With all their tender love
You see, she works not for herself
But for her family’s care
So lovingly she carries
This burden she must bear
So many times her labors go
Unseen by others eyes
They do not know of all the prayers
Or many tears she cries
Yet through the joy and through the pain
From day to day she gives
To see her family happy
Is the reason that she lives
So now we thank you mother
We know we can't repay
For all that you have given
Each and every day
