Sylvia Jean Reed of Turlock, passed away at Bel-Air Lodge Convelescent at the age of 87. Born to Fred and Grace Marriott in Hynes, California, she was the youngest of three children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years John Paul Reed, brothers Elmer and Fred Marriott, and son David Reed. Sylvia has resided in Turlock since 1936 and graduated from Turlock High School. She was a member of Senior Citizens and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and she enjoyed family gatherings, camping, and trips to Lake Tahoe.
Sylvia is survived by current husband George Uman, children Barbara Von Dohlen (Jim), Gail Anderson (Ron), Steven Reed, Daniel Reed (Cynthia), stepson Gene Reed (Joanne), daughter in-law Janet Reed, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on September 10th at Lakewood Memorial Park. Following, a celebration of Sylvia's life will take place at New Life Christian Center, 2918 W. Tuolumne Road, Turlock
