Ted was born in Arkansas to parents Verlin Vester Hawkins and Ida Mae Biggs on Mary 23, 1947. He moved to California with his family as a child, and placed his roots in Stanislaus County. He met the love of his life Barbara Jean Long, and the two married. As their family began to grow, Ted continued to live his life every day to the fullest with those he loved. He was an active member of the Master Gardeners of Stanislaus County, the San Joaquin Iris Society, and the Ceres Garden Club.
Ted is survived by wife Barbara, as well as many children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
