“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his Saints.” (Psalm 116:15)
“A Time to be Born (& Reborn)…” (Ecc. 3:2)
Virginia Carol Gore was born to the late Sebron Estus Holland and the late Mildred Louretta Cochran on March 23, 1940, the second of four children. On December 15, 1957, Carol became the wife of the late Roy Henry Gore. Their union spanned 58 years to which four children were born. Carol confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with the Church of the Nazarene where she was a member and actively involved for many years until limited by her health.
“…Let Her Own Works Praise Her…´ (Prov 31:31)
Carol was a gifted seamstress and was the proud owner of Carol’s Corner, a dressmaking shop that specialized in bridal gowns. She volunteered actively throughout her life in the church, working in the nursery and with the teens, in bible quizzing and with the Girl Scouts. Carol found pleasure in cooking, playing games and cards and hosted many fun game nights for friends and family which often included her famous spinach dip and turkey tacos. She loved spending time with her family (especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren) and friends.
“…Whatever you did for the least of these…you did for me…´ (Matthew 25:40)
Carol had a fervor for studying God’s word and she shared the love of God with everyone. She was blessed with the gift of hospitality and believed it was her calling to feed, clothe, house, counsel, mentor and love all whom God brought into her life, truly exemplifying Christ in deed and word.
“A Time to Die…” (Ecc. 3:2)
On August 6, 2022, Carol went to be with her Lord and Savior, and left behind pain, worries, and cares of this world. She is now in the realm of the Celestial Shores and is in the presence of the Lord. Those who preceded her in death include her father, Sebron Estus Holland, mother, Mildred Loretta Cohran, and beloved brother, Ron Holland.
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed…” (Prov 31:28)”
Carol leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to her children – Penny Nostrand, Roy Gore, Janette Nolan and Kathy Priest. Her heart continues with her sister, Rosemary Charles and brother, Dale Holland. Her legacy endures with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, extended family, and devoted friends.
The Gore family will celebrate her beautiful life and memory with a memorial on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a lunch reception to follow at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA 95326. Flowers may be sent directly to Lakewood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Carol asked that donations be made to the Girl Scout’s of America.
