

Vivian Pearl Calvert - beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend - passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on November 17, 1936, in Royal Oak, Michigan, Vivian was the cherished daughter of Schuyler Colefax and Eva Nell Cross.
Vivian graduated from Hazel Park High School and soon after joined the workforce as a bookkeeper. She dedicated 13 years of her career to JM Smuckers Company as an expediter. Her professional life was marked by diligence and commitment.
She was married to Raymond Gordon Calvert for 55 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children: Alaine, Dale, and Keith. Her family continued to grow, and she was blessed with eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Vivian was a well-known figure in her community, particularly for her amazing pies. She had a passion for travel and enjoyed spending her time on needlework projects. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her active membership at the Orangeburg Avenue Baptist Church.
Vivian is survived by her daughter Alaine (Jim) Johnson of Modesto, CA; her son Keith (Deborah) Calvert of Port Orchard, WA; brother Irvin Cross of Salem, OR; 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her husband Raymond Gordon Calvert, and her son Dale Calvert.
Vivian was loved by all who knew her. Her legacy is one of kindness, warmth, and a life well-lived. She leaves behind a family and community that will cherish her memory.
A funeral service will be held on March 10, 2026, at Orangeburg Avenue Baptist Church, located at 313 E Orangeburg Ave, Modesto, CA 95350, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Following the service, a committal service will take place at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Vivian's life was a testament to love, family, and community service, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
