
Walter Biasca passed away on Sunday September 4, 2011 doing what he loved; puttering around his fruit trees. Walter was born to Peter and Enrichetta Biasca on September 17, 1924 in Coquille, Oregon. In 1939 they moved to Hughson CA, where he spent the remainder of his life. He graduated from Hughson High School in 1942. He was a member of St. Anthony's parish in Hughson, serving for many years as an usher. He was a primarily a peach farmer, but he also milked cows, cut wood, and worked for Martella Farms in the walnut huller and as an irrigator. He belonged to the Hughson Historical Society, and was recently honored as one of the Distinguished Citizens of Hughson. It was an honor he was very proud of. Walter loved to go to flea markets, mini-warehouse auctions and antique shows. He was a collector of countless things. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother, and his loving wife of 50 years, Betty. He is survived by his children Debra Linn (Linzey) of Oakdale; Ed Biasca (Sheri) of Hughson and Vickie Robertson (Sam) of Goldsboro, NC. Grandchildren Peter Biasca of Modesto, Lillie Robertson of Raleigh, NC, John Robertson of Greenville, NC and Anthony Linn (Mary) of Tuolumne City. Great-Grandchildren Peter and Joseph Biasca, and Amanda Linn. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 12th at Lakewood Funeral Home from 4-8pm with Rosary at 6pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 10am, with burial to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
