Wanda McBroom passed away of heart failure on November 29th, 2015. She was born in Carter, Oklahoma, on February 27, 1930, to Flossie and Grady Boyd and moved to Modesto, California as a young child. She resided in Modesto for the rest of her life. She began working at the age of 14 at American National Can Company (now Silgan Containers) and continued working there for nearly 60 years.
Wanda leaves behind her two daughters, Michelle Williams (Joe), and Cheri Halsey, both of Modesto. She also leaves six grandchildren, Elicia Inacio of Modesto, M'Lissa Hayes of Seattle, Washington, Heather Maciel of Modesto, Chris Halsey (Bonnie) of Oakdale, Colby Halsey (Kathy) of Dexter, Michigan, and Mick Rubalcava (Carrie) of Modesto, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her parents and brothers, Calvin and Jimmie Boyd.
A Graveside Service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, California, this Saturday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m. Open house will be held at her home following the service.
