Warren Jennings Peek

Warren was called home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2015. He passed away peacefully in his home with his loving family by his side. Warren was born March 2, 1927 to Dewey Franklin Peek and Ora Gibson in Dierks, Arkansas.

In 1943 at the age of 16 Warren headed to California. Shortly after coming to California he joined the Navy and served his country for 4 years during WWII. When the war ended he joined the Merchant Marines and worked in the shipyards in Sausalito CA. He left the Merchant Marines and went to work for Don L. Davis. After leaving Don L. Davis In 1959 Warren opened and operated Peek Bros. Painting Contractors for 45 years with his brothers Gerald Peek and Wyatt Peek. While being a business owner over the years he was a Mason, President of the Trades club, Co-Chairman of the Builders exchange, and was President of the Old Fisherman’s Club.

Warren was the oldest of 6 children and is survived by two brothers Gerald (Nina) Peek, Chuck ( Judi ) Peek, son Robert Peek, step sons Chris (Denise)Byers, Terry (Amanda)Byers, Kelly (Rena)Byers, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Peek, parents, Dewey Franklin Peek and Ora Gibson Peek, step-mother Jessie Peek, sister Shirley Correll, son Jeffery Peek, daughter Deborah Anne Peek Word, brothers Wyatt peek and Roland Peek. The family would like to thank all the family and friends that put their life on hold over the past 4 years to care for Warren, we are forever grateful for your commitment to love and care for him.

Lakewood Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson, CA. Visitation will begin at 9:30am with a Chapel Service and Reception following at 11:00am. Remembrances may be made to our local Community Hospice, 4638 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95350 or to your favorite charity.
