William A. McCarthy

William passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on the morning of June 4, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah, 3 sons, Scott, Michael and Billy McCarthy, his daughter, Lisa Sheffield and daughter-in-law, Maria Alvarado as well as 2 brothers, Kevin and Joseph McCarthy. He also leaves 3 brothers-in-law, Don and Roger Jackson and James Davis and 4 sisters-in-law, Ko and Pam McCarthy, Natasha Jackson and Kelly Davis. Bill was known as PaPa to 6 grandchildren that he cherished; William Arthur II and Richard McCarthy, Nicholas and Matthew Sheffield, and Madison and Ian McCarthy.

Bill Retired from Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department where he worked as a Custodial Cook known as “Bill45” for 18 years, participating as a union representative and Board of Director Member for several years during that time. After retiring from the Sheriff’s Department, he obtained his certificate as a Dispensing Optician and worked in that field for 13 years. William was a member of E Clampus Vitus since 1978.

As a devoted family man, he has the love of all of his family members and he takes a piece of each of our hearts with him. He will truly be missed more than mere words can say.

Services to be held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson, California. Visitation will be on Monday June 13, 2016 from 4:00-8:00pm. Funeral Service is on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at 10:00am.
