

Wyatt Baxter Peek died Friday, Oct 19th, at home after a long illness. Wyatt was born in Dierks, Arkansas in 1934. He moved to the Modesto area with his family in 1943. Wyatt attended Paradise Elementary and Modesto High Schools. He was an Army Veteran. Wyatt and two of his brothers operated Peek Brothers Painting for 45 years. He was a member of the Old Fisherman's Club and an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting and especially his yearly "Deer Camp" with his brothers, family and friends. He proudly holds a Boone and Crocket Record for a North American Yukon Moose. His outrageous sense of humor and quick wit and wonderful stories will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving companion of 35 years, Carol Vierra, and her family, and four brothers, Warren Peek, Gerald (Nina) Peek, Chuck ( Judi ) Peek, Roland (Rosanna) Peek, brother-in-law Paul Correll, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Franklin Peek and Ora Gibson Peek, step-mother Jessie Peek, and sister Shirley Correll. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 4 PM - 8:00 PM, with a chapel service on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 11:00 AM. Both will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA. Lakewood Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
