

Arthur Farthing served as an x-ray technician with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1961-1990 and proudly served as a peacekeeper in Cairo in the early 1970s. Arthur lived as a proud Baptist who always actively supported the churches he was part of as well as volunteering for community programs such as scouts, beavers and soccer as his boys grew up.
Arthur was the beloved oldest son of the late Archie and Selina Farthing and cherished brother of Donna Fraser (Ernest Fraser). He is survived by his two sons, David (Daša Farthing) and Gregory Farthing, and his six grandchildren: Andrew, Jessica, Brendan, Tobias, Tyler, and Ethan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Joyce Townsend, and is remembered fondly by her siblings Ed, Pat, Jim, Brian, Brenda, and Debbie as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Arthur’s life will take place on Sunday January 19th, 2025 at Robert & Gauthier Beauchamp Funeral Home, located at 271 Boul St-Joseph, Gatineau, QC, J8Y 3Y1.
Viewing to be held 9:30 am to 10:30 am, Service 10 :30am to 11 :30 am EST. The service will be broadcast live through a weblink for those out of town.
