Miss Nicole Proulx

Nicole Marie Catherine Proulx (commonly known as Nickie, Nick, or Maman to her grandchildren), was a strong, independent and determined woman. She fought hard to win her battle against cancer and remained strong until the very end. She passed away peacefully at the age of 67 on April 13th 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband Norman Beaudoin, and children Kathie Knowles (Kevin Knowles), Jennie Leslie (Arthur Leslie), Krissie Nault (Nathan Nault), and John Beaudoin (Katia Veilleux). She will be dearly missed by all of her grandchildren Isobel, Carlie, Patrik, Elizabeth, Daniel, Gabrielle, Mateo, and the newest addition Flevie.

She will be missed by her siblings Zenon (Diane Cheney), Allan (Diane Giroux), Denis, Robert (Natalie Lamirande), Tammy (Les Burgess), and Nancy (James Rean). Predeceased by her father Fredrick (Richard), mother Jacqueline (nee Chartrand), sister Jeanne (Gerry Aubin), brother Roger, and brother Terry (Laura Stewart). She was loved by so many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nick was a force to be reckoned with. Her innovation and creativity were unmatched. It was common for her to say, “Norm, I have an idea…”. She had a talent for baking. Whether it be homemade buns, chocolate chip cookies, pizza or lasagna, she mastered them all. Her talents spilled into crocheting, sewing and gardening. There was truly no project or task that she could not handle. If challenged, she would say “Oh, yeah! Watch me!”.

Her positive disposition, energy and laughter were magnetic. The world has lost a beautiful soul.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Ruth Vander Stelt and her team for their outstanding service and support during her treatment and palliative care.

The family is grateful for any contributions that you would like to make in Nicole’s memory, we ask that donations be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Shawville Hospital.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held. Details will follow.
