She leaves behind her four children: Lucian Hudson, 14 years; Syrus Hudson, 11 years; Grey Wilson, 3 years; and Freya Wilson, 4 months. Sister of Simon Azzopardi (Eryn); Benjamin Azzopardi (Michelle) Many cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved their Aunt Sammy. Samantha was a shining light to the world. She was counted as a baby and was not expected to live past three months. Samantha was truly a miracle child, surviving impossible surgeries and life threatening medical issues, only to beat the odds every time.
Samantha was her daddy's birthday present (Best gift ever!). She was her mom's pride and hero.
Samantha always believed you need to live every day like it is your last, and therefore, she never wasted a day. She loved fiercely, gave selflessly, and helped anywhere she could.
Samantha's goal in life was to build a community of people who supported and helped each other in good and bad times. She truly touched so many lives with her charm, emotional intelligence, strength, and love. She leaves behind many friends and acquaintances from all over the world.
Sam deeply loved nature and celebrated the changes of the seasons, the small wonders, such as a fresh, budding shoot of a spring flower, a new type of fungus on a leafy forest floor, or a particularly beautifully colored fall leaf. Samantha had a very spiritual connection with the forest, whether hunting mushrooms, foraging for edible plants, or just enjoying the peace of the rustling leaves and the shrill birdsong that filled the air.
Samantha loved cooking, experimenting with new flavors from all over the world. She was also very crafty and creative. She loved to sing and dance, and her children and husband joined her in many impromptu dance parties. Samantha loved ancient Egyptian culture and history, as well as Viking lore and traditions. Her home was decorated with an eclectic mixture of these differing cultures because it fit with her spiritual beliefs. Sam loved "cow-cows" for their big, mournful eyes and their soft, velvety noses and dreamt of adopting one someday.
We celebrate her life with joy and mourn her passing with broken hearts. Samantha is being laid to rest with her Grandma Savoie and her beloved Auntie Lucie in the St-André-Avellin Cemetery in St-André-Avellin, Quebec.
