Mr. Pick “Jefe” was like a father to me and he certainly scolded me like one of his sons 😊. But it was done out of love, and the respect I had for him is beyond measure. His work ethic and love of family were but two of the traits I admired about him. He taught me so much. I am glad that I recently spent an entire afternoon/evening with him talking and a little imbibing. He was a man of the people and will truly be missed. My prayers to you Mrs Neria and all my Pickwoad sisters and brothers.

Mr. Pickwoad or "Mr. Pick" as i would refer to him at times. A man of respect and strength, always treated me with the upmost kindness whether it be at the restaurant "Neries" or at his house for social gatherings. He would always tell me stories about him and my grandfather Roque Escalante Sr or as he referred to him as "Rapido" It was never a dull moment chatting with him as he would make you laugh at times from the past memories or you would be intrigued from them....a man of wisdom and courage! You will live on in our hearts forever Mr. Pick! Condolences and my Sympathies goes out to all the family! May he RIP 🙏🏻

Uncle Alfred was a friendly, jovial and funny Uncle. He was a frequent visitor to our home along with Alfred Junior when junior was young. My dad enjoyed his company and that of Uncle Ricky. They were always planning events together. Our family was always over by their home as well on Petticoat Alley and Amara Avenue.

Rest In Peace Uncle Alfred.

Condolences to all my cousins, their spouses, children, and of course to Aunt Neria, Uncle Alfred’s love of his life. The heartache of losing a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, father-in -law is difficult. God will provide the source of strength you will need to get through this second sorrow. There are Angels taking care of you all from heaven.
