Andrew Roy Broussard III was born on August 21, 1970. He was the son of Andrew Roy Broussard II and Rosena Ann Broussard. As a child, Andrew loved to play sports with his big brother. He loved being a big brother to his younger brother and sister. As an adult, he loved music, sports, dancing, coaching, and mentoring youth.
Andrew graduated from E.L. Furr High School in 1989. After high school he joined the United States Army where he served his country for four years. After returning home from the military, he began mentoring and coaching the youth in the Eastside community. Through his mentorship he developed a passion for education and later pursued his Bachelor’s Degree in General Education. He had recently begun pursuing his Master’s in Counseling.
Andrew was DEVOTED to the youth on the EASTSIDE of Houston. He was a father figure, teacher, mentor, coach, and role model to many. He was called upon to provide guidance and structure to struggling youth. Throughout his tenure as a devoted community liaison he began ministering and sharing faith and the love of God.
While serving in the military, he met and married his wife of 27 years, Vanessa Broussard. He was a devoted, loving husband. He and his wife were made for one another. They were “ride or die.” She was “Bonnie” and he was “Clyde.” Together they were UNSTOPPABLE.
Within this union they raised 5 children. He was an amazing Father! Andrew was present in every aspect of their lives. He instilled the love of sports and education in all of his children. He believed in unity and FAMILY TOGETHERNESS was his priority.
Andrew was a proud PAWPAW. He adored his grandson and granddaughter. They were the twinkle in his eye. They were his little heartbeats and sidekicks.
He departed this life on July 30, 2020. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rosena Ann Jackson, his Pops, Kenneth M. Jackson Sr. He leaves to cherish his father, Andrew Broussard II, his wife, Vanessa Broussard, children: Kierra, Dominique, Andrew (Pop), Brandon, and Jasmine, grandchildren: Aiden and Sky’la, special daughters: Abbie and Allegra, Godson: Rodney Broussard Jr. (Lil Roc), brothers: Rodney Broussard (Nickie) and Kenneth Jackson II, sister: Kenetia Harris (Deshawn), and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
