In 1948 Cotton met Peggy and on April 17, 1950 they married. This past April made 61 years of a loving marriage. He had a son J.W. and he and Peggy had 4 Children; Mike, Twilla, Ted and Timothy. Cotton has many grandchildren and Great grandchildren that he loved.
Cotton was very active working on cars, lawnmowers, bicycles and anything mechanical. If someone needed something to be fixed, he was the man they brought it to. He never charged anyone for fixing it because he loved to do it. One of his grandsons said, “He had magic hands.”
There are so many good memories. He had his own unique name for everything and anything. He gave everyone their own nickname. He loved to cook, and would make large feasts with everything you could imagine. I think the best meal of them all was breakfast. No one could make pancakes like him. Friends and family always loved to come over and eat his infamous meals. He had a witty sense of humor and he never let anything get the best of him. Anyone who knew him never had a bad word to say about him. He was a man that people either liked or loved.
Cotton was a good, thoughtful, hardworking, fun loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a person of great love and devotion to his family.
