Arthur Bernard Lewis was born March 9, 1962, to the late Phillip (Peter) Lewis and Gracie Lee Jackson-Lewis both of Natchitoches, Louisiana. He was born and raised in the City of Natchitoches, Louisiana. He lived in Houston, Texas all his adult life.
Arthur accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of North Street Baptist Church until he moved to Houston, Tx. He graduated from Natchitoches Central High School in 1980. Arthur had a huge heart, a love for people and was always willing to help everyone. He loved celebrating others. Arthur's love for playing Cards and Dominos could only be matched by his love for the Dallas Cowboys. All he needed was a remote, a TV (with the sports package) and a recliner. Arthur loved talking loudly (his normal volume was LOUD) and laughing even louder!! Arthur loved spending time with his family and friends.
On May 17th, 2023, Arthur passed on to Eternal Glory. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip (Peter) Lewis, Mother, Gracie Lee Jackson-Lewis, Brothers, John J Lewis, Leroy C Roberson, and Carl R Jackson, and Sister Eddie B Doyle and Linda Lewis-Henderson.
He will leave to cherish his memory, his daughters, Adrienne Yuman, Anita Cromwell, and Ashley Lewis, Four sisters, Delores Lewis-Benjamin, Frances L Middleton, Annie J Norris (Leon), Vera M Harris (William) and Sandra Jackson; Two brothers, Lugene Lewis (Patricia) and Samuel Jackson; Son-In-Law Lennin Yuman; Two grandchildren Alijah Cromwell and Aleya Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Arthur will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cem, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338, followed by a committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
