Extended family and friends wish to mourn Avera Hill Basham. Avera was born March 13, 1965, to her mother Irma Maxine Walker and father Winfred Junior Hill. She passed, surrounded by love, May 2, 2022.
Her family was always in the forefront of Avera’s mind. Often, she would clear her schedule at a moment’s notice in order to be available for whomever she was needed. The door to her home was always open to family and friends and she would always remind those close to her that she was never more than a phone call away.
Avera had travelled the world, proud of the fact that she had visited almost every continent for either work or pleasure. We ask that your prayers, thoughts and feelings are with her and her family as she travels, by herself yet not alone, where we cannot yet follow.
She will be sorely missed by her husband, Stephen “Steve” R. Basham and their dogs Jovie and Ruby Sue. Brother Jeffrey Lynn Hill, sister Teresa A. Hill McCray, nephew J. Michael Hill, niece Carrington Loop, and nephew Garrett McCray. As well as grand-nephew Nicholas Hill and grand-nieces Trinity Grace and Kinsey Leigh Loop.
Avera greatly enjoyed the time she spent with Steve’s daughters Niki White and Stephanie Carpenter, grandchildren Kristopher Basham, Kody Evans, Kaydiann Sheridan, Jonathan Carpenter and Elizabeth Carpenter and great grandchildren Levi Sheridan, Karsen Basham, Adalynn Sheridan, Kaydence Sheridan, Emmylou Sheridan and Kaden Basham.
